In the darkest days of COVID, April and May 2020, I was faced with a stark reality: my business was dying (or was it dead?!)
The online business I founded with my wife back in 2006 was on life support. (A travel business with a dozen employees - but noboby could travel due to the pandemic!)
And the lifestyle and financial freedom I had enjoyed from it for so long were crumbling. The various "hobby businesses" I was involved in at the time weren't bringing in the income I now needed. I had to get serious. What was I to do? How was I going to reinvent myself?
Faced with these realities and yet a newfound sense of opportunity, I took a personal day retreat here in Florida and asked myself a series of the following questions. I took a good hard look at my journey thus far - from college until that day. Assessing my skillsets, interests, how I'd changed, who I was becoming, what I wanted for me and my family and so much more.
What follows are many of those questions and...
Recently I sat down with my friend Vincent Pugliese for his excellent Total Life Freedom Podcast. In this episode we discuss lifestyle freedom and he pulled out so many of the foundational, pivotal stories from my career. If you wanted to know more about my journey then this show is for you.
Becoming an entrepreneur is not all it's cracked up to be. Lots of twists and turns, some highs and lows throughout the chapters of life already written. From the heady days of politics and White House Christmas dinners to a house fire and almost losing a child you'll hear how the journeys of business can take unusual turns.
In this episode, one area that stuck out to many was my personal "pivot retreat" and a list of questions I had to answer. Since this episode aired I've had many people approach me about this list of questions. So I've put them together here for you. Feel free to download and use personally or professionally as you wish. May they help you clarify your calling and...
Crypto? Blockchain? Smart contracts? DeFi? Ledgers? Wallets? How much do you know about these topics and would you like to learn more? Investing in cryptocurrency is a hot question on lots of people's minds these days and I'm here to simply offer what I've learned over the years.
I've been talking more openly online recently about my cryptocurrency investing journey. Frankly, I was a little surprised by all the questions, messages and texts I received from friends, family and acquaintances. The curiosity of how to invest in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, in general, was high! I guess it's one of those things where "what's ordinary to me is extraordinary to someone else."
Thus, I've gathered many of those questions, thoughts and resources I'd like to share here about cryptocurrency investing. Also, I have some referral codes for free Bitcoin if you want to start with as little as $100.

There's this amazing poem that's spoken to me and so many others over the years. I wanted to share it with you here as we close out 2020 and begin a new year. What a wild year it's been. What a wild year it's been.
But as you reflect and also look ahead to the hope of a new year, I hope this poem, called The Dash, speaks to you. May it help us align our goals, our purpose, anchor us and what really matters in this life.
poem by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning… to the end.
He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own, the...

Where is your Suite? Where is your sweet...

12 Minutes That Will Change Your Life
A simple delegation tactic to save you hours.
Delegation. You’ve heard it, maybe struggled with it but know it’s powerful if you embrace it. Admittedly, learning how to delegate effectively is not something learned overnight. If you are good at what you do, you’ve likely mastered your craft and have found some ways to be good at other areas of your business. Learning to let go – and the fear of losing control – is real for many entrepreneurs. ...
As we repeatedly checked several important factors in previous posts, we noted some elements that kept on coming up. So from our deep-dive on creating guidelines for business owners to scale up, we’ve determined the top three duties of an entrepreneur and how to delegate them.
Whether you are in retailing, a tech startup or a service provider, you are the master planner of the venture you’ve decided to take on. When starting out, you should be the one to clearly identify who your customers will be and what your product or service offerings are. You must establish how these deliverables are going to be completed. And finally, you must have a clear view of how are you going to make money out of it.
As the business grows, however, delegating this may become necessary. As one of the top duties of an entrepreneur, passing this on to someone else could be tricky. To effectively scale up, you might...
